Week 9 ESPN College Gameday Guest Picker Odds

Two of the hottest teams in college football will square off in the foothills of the Wasatch this weekend, with ESPN’s premier pregame show making the trek to Salt Lake City to take in the occasion. All of the best college football betting sites will have their eyes on this game.

When ESPN’s College GameDay kicks off in the early morning hours of Saturday from outside Rice-Eccles Stadium, they’ll do so for the fifth time in the show’s history — previously making the trip to Utah’s capital city in 2016 (vs. Washington), 2015 (vs. Cal), 2010 (vs. TCU) and 2004 (vs. BYU).

The show will be in the SLC in the runup to the Utes’ Week 9 showdown against No. 8 Oregon, which kicks off on FOX at 3:30 p.m. Eastern (1:30 p.m. local time), with a pair of 6-1 teams doing battle to try and secure positioning for next month’s Pac-12 Football Championship Game in Las Vegas.

Ahead of Saturday’s GameDay installment, U.S. Betting Report put together a list of possible guest pickers for the Salt Lake City showcase, including a handful of Ute alumni. Something you wouldn’t typically find on the top sportsbook apps, which makes it more fun and unique.

Who Could Be The Next Guest Picker On College GameDay?

The top picks to join Rece Davis, Pat McAfee, Lee Corso and Lee Herbstreit on Saturday as GameDay’s next guest picker are former Utah legend Steve Smith Sr. (+400) and No. 1 NFL draft pick Alex Smith (+700).

Other potential contenders include ESPN reporter Holly Rowe (+1000), former Utah basketball player Andrew Bogut, Jazz stalwart John Stockton and TV dance stars Derek & Julianne Hough — all of whom are listed at +1750 to be on this week’s show.

The pair of former Utah offensive stars (Smith Sr. and Smith) starred in Salt Lake City, with the former being a two-time All-Mountain West selection in 1999 and 2000 after finishing his two-year run with 78 catches for 1,603 yards and 12 touchdowns, while the latter threw for more than 5,200 yards with 47 touchdowns and eight interceptions across three seasons between 2002 and 2004 under then head coach Urban Meyer.

We’ll know for sure which Utah celeb will join ESPN’s CFB pregame show on Saturday, though any of the aforementioned candidates will likely be the person tabbed to be the latest guest picker on the program this weekend.  In the meantime, be sure to check out all of our best sportsbook pages, including Caesars Sportsbook.
