Connecticut Sports Betting Handles Soar in September 

The first month of football season reaped instantaneous rewards for Connecticut’s sports betting operators, while the Constitution State’s iGaming handle jumped double digits as well during September.  

Overall, the total handle for Connecticut sportsbooks was $180,954,956 in September, which climbed 98.2% from August ($91,316,807), while the state’s mobile sports betting apps handle ($170,224,396) jumped 100.5% from the month prior ($84,911,576) and the retail handle ($10,730,560) increased 67.5% from August ($6,405,231).  

As far as sports betting taxable gaming revenue was concerned, September’s total ($14,899,707) was up 99.5% from August’s sum of $7,470,338 — with $13,554,003 of that coming from online sports betting wagers and another $1,365,704 from retail bets.  

The state’s share of September’s sports betting haul was $2,048,710 which was up 99.5% from August ($1,027,721), finishing off a strong month for the state’s sportsbooks.

Connecticut Online Casinos Also See Sizable Rise In September 

The good news wasn’t confined to sportsbooks in Connecticut in September, though, with the state’s online casino operators taking in $1,124,565,577 in total handle, up 14.1% from August’s total of $985,352,680.  

The online casino total taxable gaming revenue wound up at $30,371,747 in September, which climbed 21.7% from August ($24,958,553), showing a fall surge for Connecticut iGaming in 2023.  

The final waypoint for the state’s online casino market was the operators’ state revenue share, which finished September at $5,466,915, which was up 21.7% from August ($4,492,540).
